MOTHERS DAY 2019
SERVICE IS HELD:
Sunday @ 10am
Thurgood Marshall Elementary School
2501 Oak St. Bellwood, IL 60104
WHAT TO EXPECT
LETS BE HONEST
Nobody really likes a blind date…do they?
Before you know what hit you, excitement and anticipation can quickly be replaced with awkwardness and questions.
Sometimes visiting a church can be that way. Wondering things like:
-
How long will this be?
-
Where do I go?
-
Where do my kids go and will they be safe?
-
What will the music be like? What will people be wearing? Will it be weird?
To answer some of these questions before you arrive, here's a list of things we came up with.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT
At Empowerment Church, you’ll be welcomed into a friendly, casual environment by people who are excited to see you.
(hint: suits and ties not required; casual dress welcome!)
We are made up of a collection of people who want to honor God with their lives and bless the surrounding community through relevant teaching, good music, and loving people.

There will also be free refreshments, tea/coffee in welcome area, where you can meet some new faces or catch up with others you may already know.
DURING SERVICE
After dropping off your children, you can make your way to the auditorium for our 90 minute or less worship experience. There are greeters who can answer many basic questions and help you find the best seat in the house. You’ll notice an easy-going environment where people are dressed casually.

TITHES & OFFERING
We’ve all heard it said before, “The church just wants my money.” At Empowerment there is no pressure to give in any of our services.
In fact, if you’re our guest please don’t feel any obligation to give—the service is our gift to you. There will be a time during our services where we will receive an offering in accordance to what scripture teaches and we encourage those who believe in Empowerment Church and consider themselves to be apart of the Empowerment Family to continually support the mission of the church with their giving.
Also, we understand the “offering time” in any church can be the most irrelevant part in the worship experience as most people no longer carry cash or checks. Therefore many of our people currently give online. Learn more about giving or give online…
THE MUSIC
Incredible. Energetic. Powerful.
These are a few of the words people use to describe the music at Empowerment. Empowerment is blessed with talented musicians who love Jesus and serve His church through modern music as well as fresh takes on some older songs. From time to time you may even hear a familiar ‘radio’ song a few minutes before the service begins.
But more than just entertainment, our music is part of the way in which we prepare our hearts and minds to hear the word and to respond to that word.
THE MESSGE
Teaching is the primary focus of our services. Every week, you can expect a Bible-based message that will encourage, challenge and empower you as you seek to go and grow throughout your week.
*Fill out a welcome card and drop it in the offering at the end of service to help us remain connected to you.
